HCPC seeks new Chair

14 Oct 2018

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is seeking to appoint a new Chair of its Council. The Chair acts as an ambassador for the HCPC, influencing and building effective relationships internally and externally with a range of senior level stakeholders, inspiring confidence in the organisation and promoting the HCPC’s central commitment to public protection.

This is a vital role at what is a pivotal time for the HCPC as we look towards the transfer of social worker regulation in England, and implementing our five year plan.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of providing strong, non-executive leadership and will be able to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability in all of the HCPC’s activities.

“The Chair leads the Council and the executive as a team to ensure our common purpose of public protection is held out in front of all of the HCPC’s decision making and activities. It is an incredibly rewarding and interesting appointment.

“Looking to the future, the HCPC has an integral role in delivering the prevention agenda, addressing issues through early intervention before they become fitness to practise concerns. A Chair who is able to influence and gain credibility with our stakeholders is key to achieving this aim.”

Robert Templeton

Senior Council Member
