Partners - Legal Assessors

Salary: £614 per day

Fitness to Practise (FTP) Legal Assessors

We are currently seeking to recruit legal professionals to provide advice to Fitness to Practise Panels of the HCPC’s statutory committees and Council on questions of law arising in connection with any matter which any of those persons is considering under article 9 or 10, Part V or Part VI of the Health and Social Work Professions Order 2001.

Applicants should have a good understanding of professional regulation and experience of regulatory proceedings or equivalent quasi-judicial proceedings as well as the ability to work collaboratively and to establish effective working relationships.  You will also have either:

• a 10 year general qualification (within the meaning of section of 71 of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990); or
• be an advocate or solicitor in Scotland of at least 10 years’ standing; or
• be a member of the Bar of Northern Ireland of at least ten years’ standing.

The length and notice for tribunal appointments are variable and can fit most diary commitments and working patterns.

We pay a rate of £614 per day as well as travel and accommodation expenses in accordance with the HCPC Partner Expense Policy.
