By regulating the professions we make sure that anyone who practises in the professions we regulate, no matter where they were trained, meets our standards. We have a dedicated nternational department, and teams of 'assessors' from each profession who assess international applicants against the standards of proficiency.

This means we deal with all international applicants professionally and consistently, and that we maintain standards for the professions. Health professionals do not have to be concerned that their internationally-trained colleagues will be lacking in knowledge or training. If you are an international applicant, you do not have to worry that anyone will expect different standards from you depending on when and where you apply in the UK. Our standards apply across the UK, and you can get a copy of the standards of proficiency from our website or a hard copy from our office.
