What does registration mean

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

It means that people have proved that they meet our standards and are therefore allowed to be registered with us and to use a legally protected title such as 'chiropodist'.

What happens if something goes wrong?

If a health professional does not meet our standards, we can take action which might include stopping them from practising.

This means that if you are unhappy with treatment you are given, or worried about the behaviour or health of a registrant, you can always raise your concerns with us.
