HPC launch online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) presentation

08/06/2009

CPD presentation launched online

The Health Professions Council (HPC) has now launched its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) presentation DVD online. The DVD which was originally launched on 1st May 2008 has been very successful and in high demand by registrants being audited for CPD.

The DVD was designed and produced to assist registrants with their understanding of the HPC requirements for CPD and prepare for the CPD audits by giving helpful tips. The DVD has received highly positive feedback from registrants which is why the HPC have now made this presentation available online.

Online presentation features include:
• audio-visual presentation which explains the CPD audit process in detail;
• easy to navigate individual section headings;
• subtitles (with the ability to change font size);
• three playing formats (Flash, QuickTime and Windows Media Video); and
• a full transcript to download as a pdf document

The online CPD presentation has been timed to benefit those selected in the forthcoming CPD audits. As well as converting the content from DVD format to web, The HPC has also made every effort to ensure that it is as accessible as possible, both from a technical, and a disability point of view.

HPC’s CPD Communications Manager, Mark Potter said:

“With the DVD being so successful we thought the next natural progression would be to make it available to all our registrants online. This is a useful tool filled with helpful tips not only for our registrants but also for graduates preparing to join our Register.”

The presentation can be played from the existing CPD section of the HPC website. This can be found in the 'registrants' section, or by using the URL www.hpc-uk.org/cpd
