The House of Commons Health Select Committee is currently holding an inquiry looking at government proposals regarding healthcare education, training and workforce planning. The Committee will be investigating a number of areas within this remit, focussing specifically on whether the proposals will ensure the right numbers of appropriately qualified and trained healthcare staff, high and consistent standards of education and training; and that the existing workforce can be developed and reskilled for the future through mechanisms such as continuing professional development.
The Committee invited Anna to give evidence alongside the NMC, Skills for Health and Million+. Other witnesses included GMC, Medical Education England and Health Education England.
Issues such as CPD funding, workforce development and multi-professional education were discussed. The Committee will shortly write a report from the evidence it receives and make recommendations to government.
