Using the online register
This page contains information about how to use the online register
The HPC online Register is a free facility which allows you to check that an individual health professional is on our register. Our online register is a fast, efficient, reliable and free way of checking the registration of a health professional. It is updated in 'real time', which means that as we make changes to registrants' information, these changes appear on the online register immediately.
Registration shows that health professionals meet our standards.
In order to use the Register, you will need to know the profession of the person whose registration you wish to check. You will also need to know either their surname, or their registration number. A registration number has up to 6 numbers, and starts with two letters, ie PH123456
Each profession has its own different two-year registration cycle . The dates shown on the Register reflect the beginning and the end of the profession's current registration cycle. However, for new registrants and for those newly re-admitted, the "Registered From" date shown on the Register reflects the actual date of entry to the Register or the date of re-admission to the Register respectively. The dates on the Register do not indicate how long a registrant has been qualified or practising.
