Dance movement psychotherapists

In 2004, the Association of Dance Movement Therapists (now the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy) made an application for dance movement therapists to become statutory regulated. You can access the application here.

Following the application, The HPC made a recommendation to the Department of Health that dance movement therapists should be regulated.

The HPC consulted on the potential statutory regulation of dance movement psychotherapists between July and October 2009. Please click here for more information about the consultation.

Following the consultation we recommended that dance movement psychotherapists should be regulated and made proposals on the regulation of the profession. These proposals can be found alongside the consultation document on our website.
